The Carl Zeiss Batis 85mm f/1.8 is a prime lens with focal length ideal for portraits and wedding photography. It’s compatible with both full frame and APS-C format sensors and, when used on APS-C format, the focal length converts to 127.5mm (on 35mm equiv. format), perfect for objects further away.

Fast Aperture

Thanks to its fast-maximum aperture of f/1.8m, you can take clear photos in low light and create a beautiful shallow depth of field to make your subjects pop. Together with the 9-bladed diaphragm, the wide aperture also creates a soft rounded bokeh effect in the out-of-focus areas.

Optical Image Stabilization

Take handheld photos with minimal blur using the Optical Image Stabilisation. Perfect for low light and longer shutter speeds, the OIS allow photographers to capture sharp detail without increasing the ISO to reduce digital noise.

Fast Autofocus

Featuring linear motors, the Zeiss Batis Lens offers a fast and quiet autofocus, great for events like weddings. Photographers can also switch to manual focus in comfort thanks to the ergonomic rubberised focus ring.

High Performance Optical Design

Made with 11 elements in 8 groups, the lens construction includes 3 special glass to produce high resolution pictures. Floating elements also ensure aberrations are minimised for clear imagery. Coated with a special anti reflective T coating on each element, reflections, flares and ghosting are reduced for detailed contrast, whether you’re shooting in dim lighting or in bright sunlight.

DOF Display on OLED Screen

A built-in OLED Screen allows you to check and measure depth of field accurately. Backlit, the display is bright for easy reading in any lighting condition.
