Miller CX8 Tripod System Overview

Designed for videographers, the Miller CX8 Fluid Head with Toggle 2-Stage Alloy Tripod System offers a lightweight overall weight, payload support of up to 26.4 pounds, a sturdy two-stage folding design, and a mid-level spreader included. Whether you’re shooting low to the ground or above the heads of spectators, the large height range will come in handy. The wide payload range is supported by a 15+0 step counterbalance and five fluid drag positions, plus a zero drag position. Miller CX8 Fluid Head

The Miller CX8 Fluid Head is designed to accommodate a wide payload range with 16 steps of counterbalance. Pan, tilt, and counterbalance can all be set to zero, enabling even the lightest of cameras to be supported. Maxed out, this head is rated to support camera setups up to 26.4 pounds, adequate for small cinema cameras with rigs or medium sized ENG camcorders. Securing your camera or rig is easy. The sideload plate design enables you to simply drop in your camera without the alignment issues posed by rear-loading variations. The plate offers 2.4″ of sliding range to balance your rig.

To survive fast-paced shooting environments, the CX8 is die-cast from a lightweight, yet durable metal alloy with composite polymers and precision ball-bearings for smooth mechanical operation. Even in harsh conditions, the CX8 will perform reliably. The base of the CX8 is a 75mm ball for mounting to compatible tripods and grip equipment. An illuminated bubble level makes it easy to level the CX8 in dark environments. A fixed length pan handle is included, and a second rosette is available for attaching an optional second pan handle.

Miller Toggle 75 2-Stage Alloy Tripod (Mid-Level Spreader Ready)

The Miller Toggle 2-Stage Alloy Tripod is designed to be a compact yet sturdy platform for your 75mm ball-base fluid head. The 2-stage design allows for a large 39.11 to 155.95 cm height range while maintaining a compact folded length of 68.58 cm. Each stage features its own rotary clamp for secure locking, enabling support for payloads up to 24.94 cm. Compatible spreaders, rubber feet, and dollies are available separately.

The Miller 508 Telescopic Above Ground Spreader is designed for use with the 402 and the 420 2-stage tripods, and allows you to stably setup the tripods on uneven terrains, steps, and slopes. Made of alloy tubes, the sturdy spreader offers durability. The spreader allows you to instantly setup your tripod, holding individual legs at an equal or preset distance. Telescoping spreader arms enable you to further spread the legs hence you don’t have to detach the spreader from your tripod for a large area setup.
